ALTRONIC ACQUIRES GAS ENGINE
GOVERNOR AND FUEL CONTROL PRODUCTS OF THE
CONTINENTAL CONTROLS CORPORATION

Altronic’s successful natural gas engine control line now includes state-of-the-art
digital speed control systems for fuel-injected engines.

Girard, Ohio, October 9, 2002 – Altronic, Inc. of Girard, Ohio is pleased to announce the acquisition of the GOV and AGV5 reciprocating gas engine product lines of San Diego, California-based Continental Controls Corporation (CCC). 

Effective today, these systems will become Altronic products, sold exclusively through its worldwide network of authorized Distributors.  These state-of-the-art products include the GOV10 and GOV50 combination electronic governor / fuel valve, and the AGV5 series fuel control valves.

·          GOV10/50 Stand-Alone Gas Engine Governors – The GOV10/50 series is both a fuel valve and an electronic governor integrated into a single unit.  These governors fit a wide range of fuel injected engines including integral units, such as those manufactured by Clark, Cooper Bessemer, Ingersoll Rand and Worthington, as well as separable engines, including many Superior and the MEP models.

·          AGV-5 Fuel Control Valve - The AGV-5 fuel control valve can be used with any supervisory PLC control system that has analog I/O capability.  It is designed to retrofit the existing mechanical governor and linkage on any fuel injected gas engine (in conjunction with a PLC and speed control algorithms supplied by others) to offer digitally-based speed control.  Two models are available (standard and extra-large) to accommodate the fuel flow needs of engines up to 10,000 horsepower. 

The acquisition moves Altronic - the world leader in ignition systems for stationary industrial engines - solidly into the engine controls field supplementing its market-leading air-fuel ratio control products, such as the EPC-100, EPC-200 and AccuNox® controllers, with state-of-the-art electronic governors and fuel valves.
