Girard, Ohio-Based Altronic, Inc.

Receives Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Award

August 5, 2003 – On July 30, 2003, Girard-based Altronic, Inc. was one of 28 companies recognized in Columbus by the state of Ohio for its international exporting activity with the presentation of the Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Award. Company president, Bruce Beeghly (see photo left) accepted the award from Governor Bob Taft at a special ceremony in the Atrium of the State Capitol building. Altronic was joined by other Ohio-based companies, including the Daimler-Chrysler assembly plant in Toledo and the J. M. Smucker Company.

Established in 1985, this award recognizes Ohio companies that have increased sales volume through exports, increased Ohio-based employment as a direct result of export activity, or developed and implemented a strategy to expand their international sales. As a manufacturer of ignition, instrumentation, control, and fuel-delivery systems for natural gas engines used for oil and gas production, as well as power generation and irrigation, Altronic products are in service worldwide. In an effort to enhance both market presence and service to its customers, Altronic established a European office in the Netherlands in 1999, and took over direct control of its international sales operations in early 2001. This latter effort included the selection and appointment of a network of factory distributors charged with the promotion, sale, and service of all Altronic products. Altronic’s worldwide network includes representation in traditional oil and gas producing countries throughout Asia, Africa, and Central/South America, as well as distribution services in Australia, China, Europe, and Japan. The efforts of its distribution system are directly supported by Altronic with its own sales and service personnel, which included visits in 2002 to over 40 countries worldwide.
